I want to sponsor a family this Christmas, what do I do first?

• Family of two

• Family of three

• Family of four

• Family of five

• Family of six

• Family of seven

When do I Drop Off:

• Please drop off the hamper on either December 11th, 12th or 15th  12-4. Please reach out to maralee@hopewellkamloops.ca if you need to make other arrangements for drop off.

What should Each Hamper Include?

 

1. A Laundry Basket or any type of large reusable basket to put items in. Items that do not fit in the laundry basket can be put in a cardboard box or garbage bag.

2. Non-perishable food items. It is important to keep the nonperishable items at 20, to ensure all the hampers are equal. (See below for suggested food item list).  You don't need to spend the suggested food budget if you hit the # of items.

Please do not add perishable items to your hamper, meat being the exception.

 

3. Gift for each child. Please get them gifts from their wish list. Budget for gifts: $60 per child.

 

4. Stocking stuffers. Budget: $15.00

 

5. Gift for mom from their wish list. Budget: $40.00

 

6. Gift for dad (if applicable) from their wish list. Budget: $40.00

 

7. Gift Card to Superstore. Budget: Families 2-4: $50.00 and Families of 5-7 $75.00

​8. A gift for the family. Each mom is asked this question: “What do you feel your greatest need will be this Christmas?” The gift should in some way meet their need (If possible) Value depends on the need. Suggested value $10 per family member.

 

Each basket (and bags or boxes that go with the hamper) should be clearly labeled with name of sponsor and basket number

(Basket number will be assigned along with hamper details)

*Meat should also be labeled with basket number

 

Instructions for Gifts:

-Each gift should be wrapped. But please wrap each gift in a gift bag.

-Please do not wrap the gifts with wrapping paper.

-Please clearly label each gift. Example: Gift for 4-year-old. Gift for mom etc.

- We do not expect you to get everything on their wish list. The list is to provide you with options.

-Please put ALL gift cards in an envelope marked “gift cards and your hamper number) and place on top of hamper or taped to the front.

-Please put new only items in your basket. No secondhand items.

 

Please stick to the listed value of the gift. You do not have to spend that amount it just has to be worth that amount.

 

Feel free to include a personal message in a card for your family.

 

 

​​Can I buy extra gifts for my hamper?

*PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU FEEL EXTRA GENEROUS AND BUY MORE FOR YOUR FAMILY, I MAY HAVE TO REDISTRIBUTE ANY EXTRAS SO THAT ALL THE HAMPERS LOOK AS EVEN AS POSSIBLE.  BUT ALL PURCHASES AND DONATIONS  WILL BE PUT TO GOOD USE!
