Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society

The Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society was established in 1972 and is charitable organization with a status free open-door policy. We encourage everyone to drop into our location, meet our friendly staff and learn more about our programs. All our programs at the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society are free, confidential, and provided in a positive safe environment.

Urban Aboriginal Health Center

The Urban Aboriginal Health Centre is not a walk-in clinic but is a family practice medical clinic whose goal is to care for Aboriginal people and people who are marginalized and without a family doctor on the North Shore of Kamloops. There is a doctor and a family nurse practitioner available for all health needs, from forms, lab work, and x-rays, to women’s health and men’s health. There is emphasis placed on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), FASD, and Traumatic Brain Injury within Mental Health and Addictions.

Q'wemtsín Health Society

Q’wemtsín Health Society is an assembly of Health Care Professionals who believe in providing holistic health services to our Secwépemc communities. We offer a range of health programs, services, and education. Please note that in order to be eligible for some programs at QHS, clients must be a registered band member with either Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, Skeetchestn, or Whispering Pines/Clinton Indian Band.

Skeetchestn Health Clinic

The Skeetchestn Health Clinic was established in partnership with the Q’wemtsín Health Society and the Skeetchestn Indian Band. The Skeetchestn Health Clinic provides access to health services for all Skeetchestn band members.

Secwepemc Child and Family Services

Secwépemc Child & Family Services Agency (SCFSA) is a fully delegated agency that provides a range of voluntary, guardianship, child protection services to Indigenous families and children living in the seven Secwépemc communities and Kamloops area.

SCFS Wellness Program

SCFSA wellness services provides family-centered, voluntary support services for children, youth, and their families.
The wellness team offers one to one, family and group counselling services, along with parent coaching programs. Wellness services can be provided in the home, daycare, school, community and at the Agency to ensure that children, youth, and families are being supported in the best way possible.

SCFS Early Years Services

Our Early Years Services are specialized intervention and prevention services for Indigenous children 0-6 years of age and their families. We work directly with parents and caregivers to offer Infant Massage, parent coaching, Circle of Security, Strengthening Families and Cultural parent groups. Participation is voluntary and family-centred, and parent driven for all programs.

SCFS Mental Health Services

Secwépemc Child and Family Services provides Indigenous child and youth mental health services that are sensitive to the unique needs of families, children, and youth. We take into account the community context, cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions of those we work with.

FNHA Doctor of the Day

The First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day program enables First Nations people in BC with limited or no access to their own doctors to make virtual appointments. The intent of the program is to enable more First Nations people and their family members to access primary health care closer to home.

This is a unique service for First Nations people in BC and their family members, even if those family members are not Indigenous. The program includes doctors of Indigenous ancestry, and all doctors are trained to follow the principles and practices of cultural safety and humility.

The First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day program operates 7 days per week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Clients will connect via zoom, telephone or for clients without phone network access, can email fndod@fnha.ca to book an appointment.
