Kamloops Family Resources Society: The Tree
​
Offers support services for pregnant women and mothers who are or have experienced issues with substance use, violence, trauma or mental health. Family Tree Family Centre welcomes drop-ins (please check website or times). Mothers can access maternity clothing and infant care items, emergency bus tickets, health and parenting workshops, peer-based social support, and referral to community resources. Accepts donations of infant care items.

City of Kamloops: Women in Wellness Initiative
The City of Kamloops in partner with Kamloops Immigrant Services, PLAYKamloops, and BGC Kamloops developed this initiative in 2021. The program aims to provide activities to girls and women new to our community to learning new skills, exploring our community, trying new things, making friends, getting active, and having fun.

They provide different events free or low cost to the community such as snowshoeing, tobogganing, skating, outdoor walks, art class, family skating and more

City of Kamloops Recreation Activity Guide:
Every season there are many recreational activities that occur throughout the city. This guide outlines different activities and programs that you can sign up for. Challenge yourself, have fun with family & friends, meet new people, and try something new!

Examples of activities/programs:
Ice Skating, Swimming, Fitness Classes, Historic Book Club, Cooking Classes, Crafting, Dancing, Language Learning, Music & much more.

Hopewell Clinic and Pregnancy Care Centre
​
Perinatal Outreach Program: This is peer support service aimed at helping women, and their families, prepare for the birth of their child, and their first year of life. Each client in the program is paired up with one of our client advocates who guides provides support and education to help them through their pregnancy and parenting journey. Pregnant and parenting (1st year) families can self-refer.
Appointments are available Monday–Friday from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

Holistic Wellness Initiative:
Thriving Moms Group: This support group is guided by the values of Love, Connection and Growth. We aim to equip and inspire young women to strive for excellence, reach for the stars, and become the best woman and mother she can be. The purpose of the Thriving Moms group is to help move mothers from surviving to thriving by offering a safe, non-judgemental space to connect with other mothers, gain support and learn more about goal setting, life skills and self-care. Empowering Moms: This support group is guided by the values of Love, Knowledge and Accountability. We aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for moms to learn and grow in order to better themselves as a person and as a mother. The purpose of the Empowering Moms group is to enable young mothers to become educated, confident, and successful members of our community by helping them improve their tools and skills and by supporting them every step of the way. The Program creates a space to accomplish real and lasting changes. The group runs September to June, on Wednesday evenings.

GRO For Moms and Dads: G.R.O. (Set Goals, Be Refreshed, Move Onward) is a program guided by the values of Love, Development, and Accountability. Our aim is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for clients to learn, grow, and set goals for themselves in order to better themselves as a person and as a parent. The purpose of our one-to-one (available for mothers and fathers) G.R.O. program is to enable young parents to become educated, confident, and successful members of our community by helping them enhance their knowledge and acquire new skills that will help them achieve their goals.
